The department of configuration management is seeking a change manager for software, hardware and consumable materials to interface with multiple departments, document and improve CM processes, insure proper CM documentation of complex and varied projects across multiple business units, produce training, auditing, and enforcement functions and be in a position to learn current operating practices in the company, define required new processes and lead and support change management staff. Candidate will perform CM functions consisting of configuration identification and specification review, change management and control, configuration status audits, and document management. Candidate will also contribute to design and implementation from current system into automated CM processes.
Our solution has been used to produce more than two billion government-issued IDs to date. These include driver’s licenses, passports and Visas, the U.S. Passport Card and Border Crossing Card, international voter registration and national ID cards, and more.
Essential Job Functions (includes but is not limited to):
Manage Change management staff
Be a professional CM interface to a large community of internal customers, a SME to program management, multiple engineering departments, as representation for a large Configuration Management department for the purpose promoting excellent customer relations while managing implementation of the next generation of CM services within the company
Maintain Bills of Material and engineering specifications to support engineering, manufacturing and finance requirements to document internally developed SW, third party SW, hardware and consumable materials for Products and D/L programs.
Chair Configuration Control Boards (CCB) to ensure proper review and release of items and documentation and to ensure completion of the required process steps, coordinating between all functions.
Design, advocate and train CM Process automation for all functions: Engineering Development, QA, Integration, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance. Define Release Gates, Processes, Document control/standards and Engineering Change Process.
Review Engineering Changes for Form, Fit and Function impact, Effectivity and Disposition of Materials. Document and track approvals. Perform Engineering changes to bills of materials and specifications in support of Operations.
Establish and maintain items in Dynamics GP ERP application to enable purchase, manufacture, invoice, and inventory transactions.
Audit D/L Programs bills and specifications to ensure completeness for operational support.
Meet external customer requirements including government entities
Familiarity with industry standards and their applicability to a given situation
Note: In addition to the Essential Functions, also performs similar work-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Experience with Oracle Agile PC or other CM database SW
Outstanding documentation skills utilizing knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint
Knowledge of Dynamics GP a plus
Ability to work on multiple projects and changing priorities
Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Five to ten years experience in CM
Five or more years in a management position in an engineering, configuration management, or change management position
Extensive experience with identification of controlled artifacts (configuration items) and implementation of standard CM control processes
Extensive successful process engineering experience
Proven ability to lead a change management function
Professional experience managing people, setting expectations, resolving personal and priority conflicts, ability to perform objective and fair assessments of employee performance, and managing employee professional development
T ravel Requirement, Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Travel Requirements, such as:
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50 percent. Initial assignment will be off site for a period of time TBD to coordinate with Senior management and staff. Long term travel requirements may be reduced to 15-20 percent.
Working Conditions, such as:
General office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
Physical Demands, such as:
Office environment where the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. Some walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.
