Academy Mortgage Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator (Database Administrator) to join our growing Information Technology team, headquartered in Sandy, Utah.

Role

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining the networks, servers, operating systems and communication and managing the staff and resources dedicated to supporting office automation, PCs and end user equipment, network and systems security and database administration.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

* Provides primary support for the company*s databases which includes planning, implementing, maintaining, optimizing and troubleshooting
* Participates in short and long range planning for the department to select and utilize appropriate technologies to meet the evolving needs of the company and its customers
* Manages staff responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining and otherwise supporting the data center system, PC hardware and software products, database systems, and systems security and access controls
* Directs significant special projects as required
* Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software at the company's disaster recovery site and provides technical support for disaster recovery testing

Requirements

* Please note that experience may be substituted for education; the opposite also applies. Requirements are broken down as follows:
* 7-8 years* experience in Database Administration and (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in house training or apprenticeship program; bachelor*s degree preferred
* 5-7 years* experience in Database Administration and A Bachelor*s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or a related field is required. Equivalent education and training may be substituted
* Ability to provide informed, professional and accurate service and support to all customers and associates
* A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact
* Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature
* Work may involve motivating (changing behavior), influencing, or training others
* External contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and sell ideas or services to others
