We currently have an opportunity for a Director of Web Engineering
in our Glendale office. The Director of Web Engineering is a highly strategic and visible role in the organization and a key leader- someone who understands what it takes to make it happen and self-reliant when building and shipping product. The Director of Web Engineering should have an opinion about the product. We are not looking for just a builder, we need someone who is a partner with the product team.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Manage a best of breed engineering and QA team.
Establish and promote processes and methods for software engineering and technical innovation
YP.com is a world class agile environment -the employees in tech teams are product contributors that can interact with all facets and silos.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in CS, EE or related, Master’s degree also highly desired.
Must have 7-10 years of demonstrated experience and success
5 plus years managing teams (QA, Engineering teams)
Ruby on Rails
Lean Agile Rapid Development / Product Development
Top open source awareness / code standards & best practices
Possesses outstanding quantitative skills, problem solving aptitude and a strong technical background
Top-notch relevant credentials, as evidenced by a track record of delivering complex, market leading technology solutions at appropriate scale to drive success.
A deep commitment to quality and usability and a track record of delivering projects within successful time and cost parameters is required.
Must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to maintain a strong results focus in the context of a high change environment.
