The IT Director reports to the Global Head of Technology (CTO), and is responsible for supporting Enterprise, Risk/Compliance, and Banking Operation applications (which includes Custody/ Cash, Capital Markets/ Accounting/ Corporate Actions/ Asset Pricing).
Aligned with the business units and responsible for strategy, relationship management, business unit level monitoring and reporting of IT related activities (support and development) and insuring appropriate resources are brought in to fill various needs of the business unit. Responsible for managing the relationship with the Business Units on all activities involving technology (strategy, engagement, application development and support) to ensure business needs are met.
Responsible for managing multiple units or functions and providing leadership and guidance to subordinate managers. Develops, implements, and communicates an overall strategy to meet both the unit's and the corporation's strategic plan and directs the activities of the area towards accomplishing those objectives. Oversees, plans, and directs the activities of over 500 employees and consultants around the globle.
Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of business strategy development is necessary to provide long term planning and to manage the profitability/performance of a major business segment. Leadership and organizational skills are required to direct the activities for the multiple units.
Major Duties
* Provides critical thinking and input to business strategy at the business unit level and communicates current state of technology activities (support, development, innovation, etc).
* Develops, implements, and communicates an overall strategy to meet both the business unitas and the corporationas strategic plan. Directs the activities of the area towards accomplishing those objectives.
* Provides IT investment advice in the form of both IT strategy/roadmaps as well as on demand consulting.
* Oversees the financial and staff resources, including developing and managing capital and expense budgets, and ensuring that resources are available to accomplish the objectives set for the area.
* Assumes full accountability for the performance/profitability of the area as compared to the plan.
* Manages multiple units or functions through the direct management of a group of managers. Oversees, plans, and directs the activities for the units, ensuring that the business objectives are being met. Develops and manages programs to support risk management and compliance objectives.
* Assumes accountability for the performance management, career development and diversity programs in assigned areas.
Experience
Minimum 15 yearsa experience in the technology and/or financial services industry, a Bacheloras degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
