Senior Oracle Database Administrator
Job Summary:
Applied Resource Group is currently seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA) for one of our Atlanta, GA based clients. This position manages enterprise database platforms, related tools and technical stack. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, building, configuring and managing database environments to ensure ease of management, stability, recovery, scalability and performance.
Responsibilities
Experience managing databases in mission critical application environments
Install, configure, patch, and maintain Oracle 11g database software system components and services.
Support Oracle RMAN, Flashback for data backups.
Advanced understanding of Linux OS and shell scripting.
Advanced understanding of Oracle RAC, Cluster ware configuration, and Dataguard.
Understanding of Oracle ASM, OMF, and storage structures.
Advanced understanding of monitoring and diagnostic tools to include Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle ADR, Oracle RDA, and Linux-based utilities such as nmon, sar, ps, etc.
Manage small to medium projects and work with internal and external persons to meet project goals on time and on budget.
Strong working knowledge SQL; experience tuning application for performance/scalability
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Oracle database administration with Oracle
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, equivalent experience, or degree in similar field required. Master’s degree
desired.
Strong self starter who can be successful with moderate direct management.
Oracle development tools such as TOAD or SQL Developer preferred
Experience with MS Project or equivalent and software configuration management.
Experience with development or administration of a data warehouse using ETL tools is a plus.
