This is a temporary assignment expected to end on or before December 2014. Position will remain open until filled.
The City of Seattle Fire Department is seeking qualified candidates to assist with the development of a Personnel Tracking System (PTS). PTS is written in ASP.NET MVC 4, uses the Entity Framework O/RM for data access, and targets mobile devices as well as desktop browsers. Successful candidate will work in the department*s Applications group to provide analysis, design and development of the software solution for the PTS project as well as providing assistance as necessary to help the department with Office 365 and SharePoint Online migration.
As a member of the PTS project team, you will work with stakeholders (civilian and uniformed personnel) and the project team to design, develop, test and implement software solutions to successfully complete the project.
* 3 years experience in software development using Microsoft technology, such as ASP.NET, .NET framework, SQL Server 2005-2008 and C#.
* Must have at least one plus years experience with ASP.NET MVC Framework, Entity Framework, LINQ, AJAX/JSON, jQuery.
* Experience with jQuery UI and jQuery Mobile is a plus.
* Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, especially with migration, is a plus.
* Experience writing complex T-SQL queries.
* Expertise in standard software development methodologies, practices and procedures and the use of source control.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate at both a technical, inter-team and customer level; commitment to excellent customer service and outstanding customer relationship skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts and present alternatives to difficult or contentious problems.
* The equivalent of a Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or additional qualifying experience.
