Sr. Manager, Web Applications

Position Summary Description:
The Sr. Manager, Web Applications will manage an onsite and offshore team responsible for delivering Web Applications. This also includes the management of the production environment and associated resources, as well as the applications development environment and associated resources. Position will collaborate with architecture team to implement the appropriate web and mobile architecture based on functionality and business drivers. Lead the efforts of design, development and build high quality mobile and web applications, as well as enhance and maintain existing applications. The role operates in an Agile/Scrum environment and requires an excellent understanding of the full software lifecycle, including functional requirement gathering,design and development, testing of software applications and documenting requirements and technical specifications.
The position will provide direction to junior to mid-level developers.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Manage a large team of developers both onshore and offshore.
Conduct capacity planning and increasing / decreasing of resource numbers.
Coach, mentor, and foster a team environment that supports a highly participative culture.
Manage routines for tracking, measuring and reporting.
Act as Technical development lead for initiatives and projects as assigned.
Collaborate on UX design, wire frames, etc.
Take initiative to research and learn emerging technologies
Create web applications using java, .net, CMS.
Basic Qualifications:
10 years of IT experience, Minimum 3 years of IT management experience.
Must have J2EE, Spring MVC, Hibernate, JPA, HTML, XHTML skills. Minimum 7 years of solid web Application Development experience using java.
Formal Management experience in a web environment, working with onsite and remote team members. A team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills. Experience working with internal and external customers. Experience working with UX design for web apps, wire frames, illustrations, prototyping. Have a thorough understanding of web security concepts. Ability to multi-task while maintaining high quality of deliverables Solid understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle. Previous experience supporting complex projects with complicated business drivers and multiple stakeholders. Good writing and communication skills.
Extensive Experience in: Web Application development experience using Java J2EE using JSP, Javascript, HTML and MVC frameworks using frameworks such as Spring MVC, Struts etc. developing Rich Internet Application using JavaScript frameworks like jQuery using persistence frameworks like iBatis, Hibernate/JPA is required object oriented design/analysis, UML modeling, Classic design patterns, J2EE patterns. XML/XSLT/XPath, Web Services (REST). Exposure / some experience in:
Data-modeling and database design skills with any of the following databases: Oracle, MySQL or SQL Server any of the following App Servers: Weblogic, JBoss, Tomcat, or Websphere
Experience in the following is a plus: enterprise Content Management System (CMS) (Tridion) developing native Android/IPhone App Middleware development using Oracle Fusion, BEA or IBM products working with the Oracle WebCenter/Suite.
Candidates should be comfortable leading teams of skilled developers, capacity planning, prioritizing tasks, managing multiple projects and work-streams and working with other departments (e.g. marketing, product management, etc.).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and customer relationship building. (Internal and external customer). Ability to work with BA's, architects, and system analysts to create well written design documentation from business requirements and be able to communicate well at all levels.
Prefer skills in .net, Tridion CMS
Education:
BA/BS Degree is required. Preferred but not required in Computer Science or Information Systems
