This position requires a highly organized, self-directed team player with excellent database development skills. As part of the Data Services team, the SQL Database Developer role will provide operational, development and database design. Responsibilities include database design, development, and implementation. This position will require a high degree of knowledge in Data warehousing concepts and data structures. This position must possess the ability to analyze data requirements and formulate solutions based on business requirements. Work with users to understand reporting needs and provide solutions using MS Reporting Service and Business Intelligence including Analysis Services. Participate in development sprints to develop and code database objects. This position will work independently and as part of a team in larger scale projects. The successful candidate will provide the full breadth of data service to development teams.
Responsibilities
Participate in database design and develop SQL stored procedures, functions and jobs for business applications
Develop reports using SSRS
Develop data warehouse ETL processes and cubes using SSAS
Install and test new deployments
Manage database elements including schemas, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers and declarative integrity constraints
Provide Change Management support to promote changes to QA, Staging
Work with Data Services staff to deploy, schedule, and set-up report distribution in SSRS.
Adhere to established database and reporting development standards
Participate and attend development sprints to satisfy database development objectives
Ensure database standards are adhered to
Ensure data integrity is maintained at all times
Qualifications/Skills
3 years experience T-SQL development with SQL Server.
At least 2-3 experience in designing and supporting high volume MS SQL2005 and SQL2008 Server databases.
2 years experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
1 year experience with Data Warehouse development and multi-dimensional data modeling; SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
Strong knowledge of database design with emphasis on proper normalization techniques.
Must display strong teamwork and interpersonal skills at all management levels along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with Data Warehouse development and multi-dimensional data modeling; SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
Strong communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced changing environment
