Web Project Manager Jobs
Broadly speaking, web project managers are similar to IT project managers. The web project manager leads a team of IT professionals; manages one or more web-based and IT projects; assigns individual responsibilities to team members; ensures that operations are in line with broad organizational goals; manages various priorities related to projects, risk mitigation, and conflict resolution; tracks project deadlines and budgets; recruits, trains, and motivates new team members; participates in strategic management by providing feedback; and ensures that organizational resources are used optimally. Similar positions include project manager, IT project manager, senior web project manager, web manager, web development manager, web operations project manager, and web team leader.
Web project manager positions may be available with IT companies, website management agencies, or similar organizations. An applicant for a web project manager job should have a BS degree in computer science, software engineering, or information technology. Having a background in Java, C, C++, ASP, .NET, SQL, MySQL, HTML, or XML may be essential.
