Senior Oracle Database Administrator Jobs
A senior oracle database administrator is responsible for managing and supporting database platforms, working closely with the vendors, external consultants, application support teams, technical support team, and oracle database administrators; recognizing areas for improvement in the team; taking appropriate action to initiate changes; installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining database instances; recommending and implementing database security policies; recommending and implementing database backup, recovery, and redundancy strategies; implementing automated monitoring to ensure proactive handing of issues; working independently to perform database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing maintenance; recommending best practices and performing other tasks assigned by the supervisor. A senior oracle database administrator typically reports to an IT director.
A senior oracle database administrator should have a bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology or any other relevant degree. Excellent academic credentials are required. Strong knowledge in the area is essential to be successful in a senior oracle database administrator role.
