Senior Database Administrator Jobs description
administration of production databases. The responsibilities of a senior database administrator include facilitating creation of a replicated architecture, providing database tuning and monitoring database security, performance and utilization. A senior database administrator has to perform the process of database security in compliance with the company’s policy, provide physical model recommendations and provide escalation support for the production database. He/she has to work in coordination with developers in order to meet the needs and specifications of the project and document all the procedures in a concise manner.A senior database administrator should be well conversant with SQL Server 2000/2005 administration, Microsoft Server COTS products including CRM, MOSS, Windows/SQL performance monitoring. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is required for this position along with experience in database operations and programming, DBA experience in an operations environment and experience in supporting live production databases as well as experience in SQL Server 2005 in Analysis/Integration/Reporting Services.
