Job Description

The Xfinity Sales Technology Commerce Experience team is seeking a Front-end Software Engineer to join our development team. This team of highly passionate engineers is responsible for working on the Xfinity.com sales platform, which supports both our self-service customers and our Retail and Telesales Agents. In this role, you will collaborate with your peers and other teams, developers, architects, and product owners to develop enterprise-scale front-end applications enabling our Internet, Mobile, Cable, Voice, and Home Security product sales.

Core Responsibilities

Collaborates with project partners to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.

Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Assists with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases.

Participates in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications.

Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.

Monitors and evaluates driven applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.

Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and mentorship with regards to practices, procedures and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers.

Works with Quality Assurance team to resolve if applications fit specification and technical requirements.

Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.

Additional Job Description:

5 years working in front-end web development

Extensive programming experience in HTML5, CSS3, SASS or LESS, and Material design

Excellent JavaScript knowledge and programming experience with ES5/ES6 Proven understanding and development experience in a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular, React or Vue

Experience with Typescript, NodeJS, NPM

Experience with module bundlers such as Webpack

Experience consuming and developing RESTful Web Services

Experience writing unit tests (Jest, Jasmine, Karma or Chai)

Experience with client-side architecture and design patterns

Awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance considerations Solid understanding and extensive experience with Git version control

Experienced with the Agile/Scrum development model using Agile tools (e.g. Jira, Rally).

Team player. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with team members.

B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, etc. or equivalent work experience.
