About the Role

The Lead Scrum Master will lead the team in the development of working software. In particular, this position will lead the interoperability team that is responsible for the delivery of the interoperability layer between Humana, Author by Humana, and vendors to seamlessly integrate all functional data that is viewed by Associates and Members. This role requires frequent collaboration with multiple Humana IT teams and communications with individuals ranging from Developers to CTO. This position regularly informs, updates, and negotiates with technology and operations leadership to determine actionable prioritization of requests for work. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: establishing Scrum processes; scheduling and sequencing decisions for all work; dependency resolution for all integrated work; determining available capacity plan for new development work; managing quality and delivery metrics for vended teams; supporting solution delivery timelines; managing the integration of incident management with new development timelines; etc.

The Lead Scrum Master leads teams through work actions that can be completed within timeboxed iterations called sprints and tracks progress through 15-minute stand-up meetings. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision. Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

5 or more years of IT experience

2 or more years of project leadership experience

Experience with the SDLC

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, leadership competencies, and high level of emotional intelligence

Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment or good familiarity with the Agile methodologies

Experience in working in multi-team environment

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Prior insurance operations background

Technical documentation abilities

Scrum experience in API development

Advanced knowledge of Agile/Scrum/Kanban development methodology

Working knowledge of Agile Project Management Tools

Scrum Master certification

Previous experience planning and managing large projects

Prior experience in the health solutions industry
