Job Description:

What's the role -

The PCD Integrity Engineer will be accountable to protect the Process Control Domain (PCD) systems against cyber security threats that could lead to a compromise of health and safety of people and environment, cause unplanned disruptions and impact the company’s reputation. Cyber security is at the top of the business agenda as the number of risks and reported security incidents across the industry are continually increasing at a time when audit results demonstrate the need for significant improvements. The PCD Integrity Engineer is responsible for identifying and delivering bottom line value to the business through the implementation of innovative, new PCD solutions and harvesting existing IT solutions/capabilities to enable achievement of the business strategy, value drivers and Key Performance. Key focus areas of the role are Relationship management, Business intelligence, Integrated business and IT strategy, Innovation, PCD Portfolio Management, and Value generation.

Principal Accountabilities

The Incumbent is responsible for managing PCD security related aspects of DEER PARK.

Plan, organise, and assure IT security controls within DEER PARK PCD.

Maintain an overview of the security measures that have been implemented for each system. For systems that do not comply with the documented information security requirements, ensure that derogations and deviations are in place, signed off by the proper authority, and effectively managed.

Ensure that the necessary asset registers containing information on all systems, network components and applications are produced and maintained.

Monitor servers, networks and communication equipment for any security alerts using implemented tools, systems, and applications.

Monitor and execute user access control and user profile management for servers and networks based on documented business approval.

Review security logs and provide reports for identifying potential intrusion into systems and networks, and escalate potential incidents as necessary, and to ensure the incident is properly investigate, remediated, reviewed, and closed.

Implement change management procedures and testing procedures for network and endpoint security and ensure endorsement from the business.

Manage antivirus solutions to ensure all nodes receive effective and up-to-date endpoint protection.

Perform security updates of operating systems based on recommended frequency.

Authorise system and user access to applications and systems.

Review changes to the security standards and review/implement changes to close the GAPS.

Manage passwords for the applications and systems.

Regularly verify that only authorised users have access to relevant systems and applications.

Ensure users who leave the company, change their internal positions, or no longer have business needs for access immediately have their PCD access rights revoked

Participate in the planning of upgrades and installations of new versions of security hardware and software.

Ensure that the implemented security controls and countermeasures work as intended.

Follow up on unsolved problems/error messages with the developer/supplier.

Verify that requirements for information security have been met before any new system is put into production.

Document deviations from the required information security measures.

Handling of PCD Security incidents.

Key Challenges:

Ensuring that objectives are achieved and developing fit-for-purpose solutions to maintain compliance.

Sustaining the PCD security compliance evergreening activities and practices.

Ensuring risks are understood and being appropriately addressed within the organization.

Sustaining wide scale behavioural change when it comes to compliance (awareness)

Keeping abreast of rapidly developing technology and the proliferation of security issues thereof.

Ensuring security is addressed proactively; by enforcing systems and processes to mitigate the effects it can have on company assets.

Embedding and integrating security risk culture into DEER PARK including PCD systems and business processes.

Dimension:

The incumbent will be responsible for the security of the PCD domain (OD/IT) related systems and data in Shell Deer Park Chemicals and must effectively demonstrate additional skills and responsibility to support the PCD Cyber Security standard. The incumbent must have the ability to work in a multicultural team environment and must also be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Fluency in both written and verbal English is mandatory. The incumbent will need to determine risk-based maintenance techniques appropriate to meet operational requirements and equipment integrity.

Skills and Requirements

What we need from you -

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.​

Bachelor’s Degree, Telecoms, or IT-related field. GICSP, MCSE, CCNE, or CCNA preferred.

Minimum five (5) years’ experience in relevant roles within petrochemical facilities.

Experience in PCD Integrity & Security.

Experience in Business/IT/PCD Risk Management

Experience in Incident, Threat and Vulnerability Management

Experience performing preventive/predictive maintenance on DCS and Process Control Domain systems.

Experience in DeltaV/Honeywell backup & recovery Consoles.

In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN topologies.

Experience in design and implementation of the PCD network as well as architectural design and implementation for specific applications such as TIS/OMM, Pi, Dynamo, AMS, Triconex, SMOC/PACE, RTO, Vibration Monitoring.

Excellent communication/customer service skills, strong analytical skills, strong documentation/written communication skills, prioritize and multi-tasking and ability to work well in a collaborative teaming environment.

Ability to decompose complex problems to ensure timely and accurate resolution of system anomalies before they impact operations.

Ability to learn new concepts and technologies quickly.
