Job Description

We are looking for a System Administrator who has strong technical managemen t experience to join the Enterprise Application Management team at Effectv . This administra t or will support a variety of tasks and projects within Effectv’s System Administration organization including hardware and software evaluation and installatio n and security administration for our internal users. Additionally, as an administrator you will support application design and implementation , backup and recovery planning, and performance evaluation and tuning for our various systems. You will work closely with the development and testing teams to support the activities of principle engineers, developers and software testers for application deployment and sustained engineering of existing applications. As an experienced System Administrator, you will be asked to research and evaluate the use of new tools and techniques to further our development of policies, standards and procedures while incorporating your knowledge into our business priorities and act as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment.

Core Responsibilities

Resolve system, network and hardware problems and assist in the resolution.

Install and test system software, install third party software and test software as determined by user.

Perform backups and restore for various servers and other systems.

Institute and maintain tight system security checks, while ensuring that the productivity of the user community is not diminished.

Work with the network and security teams to ensure adherence to security standards.

Manages and tests backup s, recovery plans , and improves disaster recovery p rocess/procedures .

Provides recommendations on database technologies and features.

Communicates and understands the impact of System Administration changes and status to affected parties.

Identify opportunities for a utomation for databases, systems, applications, and networks.

Consistent ex ercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications

7 to 10 years of experience in System A dministration

Physical, Cloud and Hybrid-Cloud servers

Experience with Active Directory / Group Polices / Exchange / SharePoint

Microsoft IIS

Server support – services, file permissions, share info etc.

Programming language : Microsoft SQL , Python, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef

Azure , AWS, Google Cloud Awareness

Service Now (preferred)

PowerShell (preferred)

Knowledge of relational databases (preferred)

Comfortable with working after hours as needed
