What We’re Looking For:

The Communications Engineer 1 will manage, implement, and scale the internal telecom infrastructure including hosted and in-house telecom services and associated hardware platforms of a fast-paced, high-growth company. The successful candidate will support the IT Infrastructure team by providing maintenance of telephony systems, and various other platforms to support the internal business users of the company.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

Develop and maintain configuration, implementation, and maintenance of 2U’s CCaaS & UCaaS Telecom Infrastructure (Talkdesk, Google Voice and FreePBX)

Develop vendor evaluations, testing, pilots, implementation into production, as well as all user training and configuration.

Support Telecom Engineers in deploying new telecom infrastructure, systems, and services.

Develop and conduct proactive maintenance activities designed to ensure optimal performance of the telecom systems.

Optimize telecom functionality by monitoring performance and stability, usage, security and backup utilization.

Conduct proactive maintenance designed to ensure optimal performance of the network and telecom systems.

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline desired from an accredited college or university or 4 years working in IT or related field.

2-5 years of previous experience working with network/telecom infrastructure (routers, firewalls, switches, wireless, PBX).

Experience providing support to end users.

Experience with technical escalation procedures.

Experience working in project-oriented environments with ticketing systems (preferably agile/scrum and JIRA).

Basic networking understanding (TCP, OSI, etc).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strongly customer-service oriented.

Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.

Eagerness to learn, self-directed, ambitiously helping team to succeed. Proactively assigns work to self and works independently.

Ability to troubleshoot and research issues.

Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an environment of constant change.

Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role:

Certifications such as Net , Sec , CCENT/CCNA a plus.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($70,000 - $80,000), with potential bonus eligibility. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
