Here at CGI Federal we are looking to grow our award winning team and are looking for a Security Engineer II in our Washington, DC location.


Experience:
Bachelors Degree and 10 years of relevant experience. Has experience in managing teams of security analysts. Is able to effectively leverage vast detailed knowledge and familiarity with security discipline. Has thorough knowledge of security principles, concepts, policy and regulations. Is able to identify risks in security systems and work with technical experts to resolve security issues. Possess ability to identify key concepts, factors and risks based on conversations and document these in clear and concise narrative or graphic reports.


Responsibilities:
Act as part of an incident response team to ensure quick response to information assurance notifications and alerts
Operate and maintain any and all intrusion detection/preventions systems and all security servers, appliances, devices and software located at the site (Maintenance includes(but is not limited to) software upgrades, software patch installations, hardware replacements and diagnosis/resolution of any software/hardware issues)
Optimize, improve and expand network and system monitoring as deemed necessary
Review, monitor, and optimize system logs to determine usage levels, performance, and security posture of systems - report misuse or security breaches immediately to network management.

Evaluate, review and test all new hardware and software projects, requests or upgrades to ensure that all components (hardware and software) interface correctly with each other and the network.

Perform risk assessments as required to mitigate potential vulnerabilities across the OPM network enterprise.

Perform disaster recovery activities in accordance with federal requirements (NIST Special Publications).
Conduct security authorization and accreditation activities as required by federal guidelines (NIST Special Publications).
Develop security policies and procedures in accordance with NIST security control requirements (NIST SP 800-53).
Perform security control assessments/audits as necessary to meet federal requirements (NIST SP 800-53).
Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly reports and input for activity reports, balanced scorecard reporting requirements, FISMA/FISCAM audit requirements, etc.
