Database Administrator III DBA

Profile

We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a DBA III in the Technology Services Department. We have one position and it can be filled in any of our three Alliance offices, or it can be filled as a remote position for candidates residing within the State of California.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Reporting to the IT Manager, you will:

Oversee the implementation, configuration, performance, operations and maintenance of Alliance databases and related products, including Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and reporting and data warehouse databases

Review application programs for appropriate use of database structures and perform business and systems analysis

Knowledge of:

Microsoft SQL Server and the relationship between Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server

SQL and T-SQL

Database reporting and analytical tools (SSRS, SSIS)

OLTP and OLAP databases

PowerShell or other scripting

Entity modeling tools

Ability to:

Effectively communicate with vendor’s software support staff regarding systems specific issues

Learn and adapt vendor-supplied software tools for editing files, screen generators, data manipulators and report writers

Provide technical guidance to other staff

Identify the need for system enhancements and assist in the evaluation and implementation of software solutions

Identify and troubleshoot potential and actual problems, conduct research, analyze complex issues, identify alternative solutions, and make recommendations for action

Review data to ensure data accuracy, integrity and quality and to identify data anomalies

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field

A minimum of five years of database administration experience which included database monitoring and management (a Master’s degree may substitute for two years of the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying

OTHER DETAILS

While this position is connected to one of our Alliance offices, we are in a fully telecommute work environment right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The interview and on-boarding process for this position will be completed remotely

This position

may

require onsite presence when our offices re-open, which will be no sooner than February 1, 2022. Onsite presence will most likely be on a part-time basis, but is dependent on business needs

COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement:

At this time, this position requires vaccination or regular testing upon office entry. Fully vaccinated is defined by the CDC. This means receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer & Moderna vaccines) OR receipt of a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) AND a 2-week period having passed since the administration of the last vaccine dose. If you state that you are vaccinated, proof of vaccination must be submitted at time of hire.
