Description

As the Associate Director, IT Project Management, you will use your background and experience in program management to lead and manage a team of PMO professionals that support the delivery of strategic enterprise programs and projects for our Medicare segment. The Associate Director is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the segment PMO, ensuring staffing is appropriate to meet program and project needs, mitigating overall delivery risk, monitoring and reporting on program and project status, developing and ensuring PMO standards and best practices are followed and actively managing stakeholder partnerships. In addition, this role will be instrumental in our transition to agile ways of working.

Responsibilities

The Associate Director, IT Project Management assembles and leads project team, identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of project. Often actively manages stakeholder partnerships and mitigates risks. Familiar with the system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. When managing programs, oversees the interdependencies and integration of interrelated projects, and sets strategies and leads program execution to deliver longer term business value. Can possess specialized knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks used to manage risks and issues unique to technology projects. Decisions are typically related to identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems within department(s), and could lead multiple managers or highly specialized professional associates.

Metric driven actions, allowing review of trends and proactive changes

Excellent fundamental project management and process improvement skills: planning, organizing, attention to detail, managing competing priorities, analytical and systems thinking.

Developing career paths and future roles based on agile ways of working such as the SAFe Methodology

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology or a related field

6 or more years of program/project management experience

2 or more years of management experience

Extensive experience leading project managers in a large corporate technical environment, with oversight across diverse technical platforms including Web, Mainframe and Client Server

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Business Administration

Working knowledge of ServiceNow PPM Platform

Six Sigma and/or Project Management Institute certification

Experience in the healthcare industry

Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Methodology
