This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The ABAP Programmer will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eResponsibilities:\u003cbr/\u003e• Collaborate with other programmers, system architect and database administrator in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications\u003cbr/\u003e• Liaise with network administrators, business analysts, and other IT specialists to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems\u003cbr/\u003e• Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures\u003cbr/\u003e• Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments\u003cbr/\u003e• Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation\u003cbr/\u003e• Research, identify, analyze, and fulfill requirements of all internal and external program users\u003cbr/\u003e• Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications\u003cbr/\u003e• Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary\u003cbr/\u003e• Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging\u003cbr/\u003e• Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas\u003cbr/\u003e• Generate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process\u003cbr/\u003e• Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines\u003cbr/\u003e• Train end users to operate new or modified programs\u003cbr/\u003e• Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts\u003cbr/\u003e• Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades\u003cbr/\u003e• Install software products for end users as required\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eQualifications:\u003cbr/\u003e• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and/or 3 years equivalent work experience in an IT environment\u003cbr/\u003e• Proficiency in programming with SAP ABAP\u003cbr/\u003e• Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices\u003cbr/\u003e• Some database administration experience with Oracle a plus, SQL Server 2005/2008, Microsoft Windows, Unix experience a plus\u003cbr/\u003e• Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues\u003cbr/\u003e• Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans\u003cbr/\u003e• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills\u003cbr/\u003e• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities\u003cbr/\u003e• Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment\u003cbr/\u003e• On-call availability any time as requested by the criticality of the system supported\u003cbr/\u003e• Overtime hours may be required to meet project deadlines\u003cbr/\u003e• Willing to step up and provide backup for other members of the team when they are not available\u003cbr/\u003e• Sitting for extended periods of time\u003cbr/\u003e• Some travel may be required for the purpose of off-site software installation and support\u003cbr/\u003e\u003cbr/\u003eEqual Opportunity Employer/Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans,
