Description

The Senior Data Engineer Designs, builds, and maintains data processing architectures and solutions enabling the efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data to insights at enterprise scale. The Senior Data Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. This role has a high focus on supporting current data architecture.

Description

The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, support, and maintain data processing architectures and solutions enabling the efficient transformation of structured and unstructured data into data products and insights for the Customer Experience and Contact Platform (CECP) organization. The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with Genesys Cloud, Core Data Fabric (CDF), and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) subject matter experts (SMEs) to extract, transform, and load internal and external data into new and existing data models for advanced analysis and business intelligence reporting.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Engineer works with data from internal and external sources utilizing cloud and on-premises environments. Develops and supports automated processes that clean, organize, and transform data into data products, insights, and actions that enables the CECP organization to more effectively move data. Makes decisions on moderately complex to highly complex data issues regarding technical approach for project components within the team's data and reporting framework. Contributes to more innovative approaches to the organization's data assets as they build knowledge of the CECP organization.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science, or similar field

Experience developing complex queries, data modeling, and extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes in SQL, Python, or similar technical languages

Proficient using ETL platforms like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), StreamSets, EDW, Azure Synapse, Databricks, etc.

Experience transforming structured and unstructured data

5 or more years of technical experience

Strategic thinking and planning capabilities

Organized and detail-oriented

Excellent verbal and written communication

Able to influence partners and direction of projects/support initiatives

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced experience with SQL, Python, StreamSets, or similar technical languages

Experience with transforming data from one platform to another with monitoring controls in place

Proven ability to lead amongst peers and partners, assuming a lead role within projects

Previous call center data/Genesys Cloud experience/certification

Previous eMite real-time dashboards

Advanced Degree

For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated (preferred) or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work.
