Job Summary

Job Description

DUTIES:Contribute to teams responsible for building, monitoring, and maintaining all the SQL Servers used by the Central Division; administer the SQL Server database, including evaluating and installing hardware and software, designing and implementing logical and physical databases, testing database designs, performing security administration, backup and recovery planning, and performance and tuning; use Windows Server and Active Directory; support SQL Server Always-On configurations using Windows Clustering; develop automation procedures using Windows PowerShell to allow the department to easily maintain the environment; perform IP Networking; work with business units to optimize their use of SQL and troubleshoot performance problems; provide backup and disaster recovery of SQL Server within the Central Division; and monitor and respond to any SQL Server alarms generated in the monitoring platforms.

REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, any Engineering, or a related technical field; and two (2) years of experience administering the SQL Server database; using Windows Server, Windows Clustering technology, and Windows PowerShell scripting; of which one (1) year includes using Active Directory; and performing IP Networking.
