SUMMARY

Bering Straits Information Technology (BSIT), a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Full Stack Developer

for a customer in Washington D.C.  

The Full Stack Developer will need to have experience in Digital Rights Management. Significant experience in Java/Oracle development in a Unix environment is critical to success. The main focus of this position is to enhance existing product from a business perspective with focus on reporting while working with existing hardware, both virtual and physical. The developer will be integrating and developing web applications and should understand web scripting languages (i.e. Javascript, PHP, Perl CGI), experience hardening web applications for defensive security and ability to document application developments for repeatability and long-term maintenance. The candidate will have expertise in relational databases, to include complex queries, schema design and modification (i.e., Oracle, MySQL), proficiency working and developing in a Linux environment and proficiency with defensive cyber counterintelligence. A clear understanding of enterprise-level web-based presentation framework (i.e. Jquery, HTML, CSS, Javascript) is also key as well as familiarity with Open Source architecture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities.

Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.

Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.

Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, and compiles documentation of program developments, input data acquisitions, programming techniques, and controls.

Enhance existing product from a business perspective with focus on reporting while working with existing hardware, both virtual and physical.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

Active Top-Secret clearance is required at time of application. Will be required to undergo CI polygraph and be successfully adjudicated for SCI access.

15 years' relevant experience

Bachelor's degree. An additional 4 years of experience can be substituted for the degree. 

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) migration and development experience. 

Experience integrating and developing web applications and understanding of web scripting languages (i.e. Javascript, PHP, Perl CGI). 

Experience hardening web applications for defensive security. 

Ability to document application developments for future duplication and long-term maintenance. 

Expertise in relational database, to include complex queries, schema design and modification (i.e., Oracle, MySQL).

Proficiency with defensive cyber counter-intelligence. 

Understanding of enterprise-level web-based presentation framework (i.e. Jquery, HTML, CSS, Javascript). 

LAMP experience (Linux, Appache, MySQL, and PHP).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
