What is Tyson Master Data Management?

The MDM Team at Tyson Foods is building master data capabilities of the future that will assist in the transformation of an 85-year-old company into the most modern food company in the world. We’re developing master data governance and quality processes that will ensure data throughout the organization and around the globe is complete, valid, and accurate. How can I be part of Master Data Management @ Tyson?

Reporting directly to the MDM Governance and Strategy Director, you will help define and execute the strategy, implementation, and ongoing administration of the MDM governance platform to enable Tyson’s data management transformation at scale. You will partner with IT to lead the implementation of Collibra to perform governance activities for master data and business process data domains. You will facilitate a cross-functional business steward committee focused upon metadata and business terminology alignment across the organization. You will be provided guidance for data governance activities within the Analytics realm. You will be responsible for user acceptance testing and training new functionality within Collibra. You must be willing to go into a deep level of detail, while still maintaining a big-picture view to ensure alignment of people, processes and technology across Tyson to enable the governance processes.

Do I have the skills?

Do you have experience in creating a data governance framework and repository for all company master, meta, reference data and other requirements to provide context, semantics, controlled vocabulary, etc?

Have you ever implemented a data governance and business glossary tool such as Collibra?

Are you a strong relationship builder who has worked with cross-functional teams to drive consensus and reach group decisions?

Do you have strong data acumen and understanding of data models?

Do you have experience creating training documentation and executing training classes?

Have you had experience with large-scale change management programs?

Have you had experience leading efforts to improve data literacy across the enterprise?

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or Technology related field.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of work in master data with data analytics, data modeling, Collibra implementation knowledge/experience.

Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with customers peers and management required. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required. Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment.
