The position will be responsible for Veeva Architecture and Release Management across all domains within enterprise Veeva footprint. The role will also be responsible for providing solution and architectural leadership, establishing an architectural roadmap, coordinating enterprise proof of concepts and championing global release management across the Veeva platform.

Responsibilities:

Manage a team 10-12 indirect reports.

Partners with broader enterprise team, helps develop the strategic plan for Veeva platform, particularly the technical elements of the strategy and plan to engage matrix teams and partners.

Responsible for understanding the use cases at an enterprise level and propose technical solutions that address those needs

Participate in efforts to redesign or modify the Veeva platform as part of, or in coordination with, business improvement initiatives

Champion efforts to improve business performance through solutions and capabilities, such as master data management, metadata management, business intelligence, content management, data integration, and related information management or information infrastructure components

Provide thought leadership role in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data quality, data governance, data modeling, data access, data integration, data discovery, database design and implementation

Advocates the institutionalization of consistent architecture practices across the organization using IT operating model and EA frameworks

Ensure that solutions are well engineered, operable, maintainable and aligned with the enterprise vision

Lead the overall strategy and roadmap for Veeva architecture including business and technical architecture.

Define the standard methodology, responsibilities and deliverables that capture the details of every level of architecture

Defines the Release Management policy, testing standards, standard operating procedures, templates and checklists

Works with all teams to drive continuous improvements to change and/or release procedures

Analyzes change requests to ensure adherence to the SDLC and meets the acceptance criteria of the Release Management process

Identifies and participates in capturing the interdependencies between all configuration items to build and facilitate the effective evaluation of the impact and risks associated with each change request both independently and collectively

Coordinates and tracks all Release Management activities and effort in an agile setting

Lead and coordinate proof of concepts across the platform to showcase new offerings and validating new functionality.

Manage strategic relationships with key IT product and service vendors

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

10 years’ experience in managing technical teams delivering complex programs

3 years’ experience in large-scale implementation of platforms in a global environment

5 years’ experiences in delivering PaaS/SaaS based cloud platform initiatives.

Experience with Veeva and/or Salesforce.com or similar cloud-based technologies

Strong experience leading projects in Enterprise solutions design and implementation, architectural models and frameworks, utilizing Agile methodologies.

Ideal Candidates will also have:

Master’s Degree with focus on Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Prior experience in life sciences, healthcare or related industry

Demonstrated strength in partnering with internal/external contacts (agencies, marketers, IT vendors)

Demonstrated ability to manage large team across business and technical areas. Ability to succeed in a matrixed environment and to influence adoption of new thinking

Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; effective manager of people and strong team-building skills
