You'll collaborate with peers to identify opportunities, architect, build, and implement software to ensure Humana's applications and technologies are secure as deployed.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. The Senior Software Engineer should have a firm grasp of security concepts and have in-depth experience with gathering requirements, then defining, developing, testing, and deploying solutions.

Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Architect, design, develop, and maintain architecture quality assurance tools. Collaborate with peers to define and refine automation for various processes, tasks and assurance functions. Design, build, and tune datasets and refresh processes to be consumed by users in the security organization.

Work with internal customers to understand requirements for reporting, dashboards, and reports. Use agile engineering practices and various software and technologies to rapidly develop creative and efficient solutions. Analyze the needs and the environment to ensure solutions accommodate the current architecture and operating environment as well as future functionality enhancements.

Responsible for defining the strategy to continued build-out and adoption of new tools to improve assurance and quality functions.

Develop, implement, and manage the necessary controls to ensure architecture quality and compliance to policies, standards, blueprints, and patterns;

Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follow established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field;

Minimum of five (5) years of experience designing, developing, and testing code;

Minimum of two (2) years of experience cloud software development or automation on Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS;

Minimum of two (2) years of experience using Agile practices and DevSecOps methodologies;

Experience integrating systems, querying varied data sources, and building databases;

Flexibility and adaptability to build solutions for multiple platforms and compute environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree

Experience working in security, governance, compliance, or quality assurance

Work experience using SQL, Python, MQuery, Bash/PowerShell, JSON, GitHub Enterprise, Terraform, Azure DevOps

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.

Work-At-Home Requirements

WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
