Day to day tasks to be performed by the Consultant:
The Expert Software Architect designs the architecture of our cloud footprint to support COVID19 response systems and scaling. The Expert Software Architect guides a development team to analyze, design and program complex projects including coordinating activities on multiple aspects of the project, assuring quality control and providing technical guidance to project teams, as well as interfacing with business owners and project management staff. The Expert Software Architect will review business requirements documentation with project team to clarify for technical design, guide systems and program design to meet highly complex business needs, preparation of detailed technical specifications from which programs are developed, and creation of appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code and technical documentation. The Expert Software Architect will prepare development time estimates and justifications for assigned tasks and provide recommendations to project manager, coordinate development activities, selects technologies, design testing plans, assure quality control and effective change control and provide technical guidance to project teams. The Expert Software Architect will consult with the software development team in coding, testing, debugging, implementing, and documenting highly complex programs, and developing complex test plans to verify logic programs; develop and maintain release management process including planning, tracking, communication and coordination of technical tasks associated with release; and support project personnel in resolving complex program problems. The Expert Software Architect will serve as technical project lead, providing guidance to less experienced technical personnel, as well as identify, track and resolve issues, recommend changes and provide supporting documentation.
Specific duties include:
Guide design and supervise coding from requirements and functional specifications.
Architect, analyze, evaluate, test, debug, document, and implement web applications.
Work with staff to ensure smooth and correct operations of any code or web services used by the application.
Produce technical and user documentation as requested.
Any other tasks necessary for completion of project deliverables and application support.
Provide technical solutions for large scalable designs.
Communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical personnel.
Communicate with programmatic units to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Software Architect:
Enhancing Detection Expansion-CDMS project
Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.
Expert 84 Months
Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
84 months of designing/architecting applications on Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services
84 months of experience designing/architecting Java applications and services. Must have experience designing these applications to be containerized. 1
48 months experience with cloud SQL or Oracle DB.
48 months of experience in ensuring the application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality, and mentor development teams to build cloud competencies
48 months experience with RESTful web service development and API architecture.
36 months experience designing/architecting applications deployed on Kubernetes Engine or Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) including documentation, continuous integration, and deployments.
