Network Administrator Jobs description
The essential functions of a network administrator are designing and planning the network, setting up and configuring the network, maintaining the network and expanding the network and troubleshooting network problems. A network administrator performs research and evaluates voice or data software and hardware, recommends improved and efficient procedures and maintains records and reports of the work performed. He/she creates and maintains logical, physical and protocol maps, and backups of all equipment configurations parameters, and network documentation standards and procedures and performs server maintenance and troubleshooting including software security patches, operating system updates, performance tuning, log analysis and maintaining application updates and bug fixes. The other functions of a network administrator include conducting Preventive Maintenance Inspections, providing disaster recovery support and providing integration of network encryption devices.A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science along with the knowledge of security methods, network operating systems and integration of Metropolitan Area Networks is required for this position.
